Advertisers, promoters, bloggers and marketers have something to get excited about coming January 1, 2015.
Pinterest has announced that their promoted pins program, which was previously only available to beta testers, will now be available to the public.
About eight months pinterest allowed top brands and companies to promote their product using promoted pins.
After seeing that the promoted pins program performed just as well and sometimes outperformed organic pins,
Pinterest decided to release the program and make it available come January 1
Performance Stats from Beta Testers
- Pinterest claims that the brands who participated saw a 30% increase in the amount of people who saved their promoted pins to one of their boards, called “earned media”
- Promoted pins were repinned and average of 11 times, the same as organic pins
- In the months following the pins there was a 5% increase in earned media
The Launch of Pinstitute
With the new programs following their launch of their analytic dashboard back in August, Pinterest is launching a tutorial Institute.
Through workshops and webinars Pinterest will show advertises how to leverage their promoted pins program.
Once the promoted pins program is released, Pinterest says advertisers will have access to tons of ad formats and advanced targeting.
Combining it with the Pinterest analytic dashboard which lets you track how your pins perform and how much content is being shared throughout the site or the web using the pin buttons.
I for one am very excited and looking forward to participate using this platform in the near future.
